- What is a general contractor?
- A general contractor delivers a construction project from a single source – from planning and coordinating all trades through to turnkey handover. The client has just one contract and point of contact. This is exactly the role Tecklenburg takes on for turnkey building projects on the Lower Rhine.
- What does turnkey construction mean?
- Turnkey means a building is handed over completely ready to move in – the client only has to turn the key. Every service from shell to fit-out comes from one source, at fixed terms and deadlines.
- What is the difference between a general contractor and a general planner?
- The difference lies above all in the scope of services: a general contractor (GU) takes on the turnkey execution of a construction project based on an existing design. A general developer-contractor (GÜ) additionally often assumes responsibility for the design services and manages the project from planning to completion from a single source. Tecklenburg offers both models. Depending on the project and the task at hand, we take on construction projects as general contractor or general developer-contractor and advise our clients on which contract and service model offers the greatest value.
