MARKT ROSE

Year after year, more flowers and vegetables are marketed in Straelen – in the midst of one of the largest contiguous horticultural areas in Europe – than anywhere else in Germany. The newly created living space arose in a region where other people spend their holidays.

New, modern living space was created in the heart of the picturesque town centre, right on the historic market square. The planning challenge for the building project lay in carefully integrating the building into the historic townscape. To do justice to this, the idea of a competition was born, which the Wienstroer architectural practice won with its outstanding design.
