On the site of the vacant Hertie building at Düsseldorfer Platz as well as on an adjacent municipal plot on Wallstraße, the Tecklenburg company will realise an open residential and commercial quarter. The quarter borders directly on the town centre of Ratingen, which is within walking distance. It captivates with its historic town core, which invites you to linger. In addition, the WALLHÖFE connect the town centre with the newly designed Düsseldorfer Platz, which offers optimal public transport links to the surrounding towns. In contrast to the closed structure of the old development, the newly emerging building will feature an open construction style. An ensemble of five residential buildings that "appear to float on a ground-floor plinth with retail spaces" combines residential and retail use. In addition to the four large tenants on the ground floor and lower ground floor, there will be small-scale retail spaces at ground level along the new promenade between the central bus station and the pedestrian zone. On a total of approx. 7,200 m² of commercial rental space, small-scale shops as well as EDEKA and ALDI as full-range food retailers will be created on the ground floor adjoining the boulevard. The second lower ground floor will be used as a quarter underground car park with parking spaces for the commercial units. High-quality apartments intended to appeal to all generations will be created on the three upper floors, a total of approx. 67 residential units ranging in size from 40 m² to 100 m². The quarter will become a natural part of the town centre, in which attractive retail, modern living and high quality of stay combine optimally.
