The "Himmelblau" project, which Tecklenburg is currently building in Kempen, celebrated its topping-out ceremony on 9 August 2019. Almost 100 guests attended the celebration, made up of the buyers and their families, tradespeople and employees of Tecklenburg, representatives of the town of Kempen, the Kempen municipal utilities and the Protestant pastor. The first construction phase, consisting of six semi-detached houses, is sold out except for one house. But the buyers from the second construction phase (ten semi-detached houses, nine of which are sold) were also invited to the topping-out ceremony, so that the neighbours were already able to get to know one another. Many children made contact right away. As the construction is running excellently on schedule, Hermann Tecklenburg was moved to say that the buyers of the first construction phase can already expect the homes to be completed this year (before Christmas), which visibly astonished and delighted the customers. The fact that the houses are being handed over almost six weeks ahead of the planned completion date shows what motivated construction teams – like the one in Kempen – can achieve. For all visitors to the event, big and small alike, the ice cream from the Sylter Eiscafé in Kempen was a great highlight that was visibly enjoyed despite the bad weather. Particularly emotional was the topping-out speech, delivered by an old companion of Mr Tecklenburg. Mr van Aaken senior himself stood high up with his son and proclaimed the traditional topping-out speech, successfully shattering the schnapps glass, which promises luck and good health for the construction project. The house blessing, spoken by the Protestant pastor Markus Rönchen, also gives cause for hope.
