The Tecklenburg construction company, which has its head office in Straelen and is represented by a project development GmbH in the state capital, has repeatedly set urban planning accents in the greater Düsseldorf area. This is once again the case now, where Tecklenburg is helping to shape the quarter development in the heart of Ratingen. On the site of the vacant Hertie building on Düsseldorfer Platz in Ratingen, as well as on an adjoining municipal plot on Wallstraße, the Tecklenburg company will realise a residential and commercial quarter. In contrast to the closed structure of the old development, Tecklenburg is planning an open construction method in Ratingen that creates an urban connecting axis between the pedestrian zone and the central bus station (ZOB). This axis runs through a residential and commercial quarter with around 6,500 square metres of retail space and around 5,600 square metres of residential space. Philipp Tecklenburg notes: “With our project, an open structure was very important from the very beginning. We did not want to create a closed block, as is the case with shopping centres, for example.” In addition to the four anchor tenants, there will be small-scale retail spaces at ground level along the new promenade between the ZOB and the pedestrian zone. As a result, the quarter will become a natural part of the town centre, in which attractive retail, modern living and a high quality of stay are optimally combined. Construction begins in spring 2019, with completion planned for the 2nd quarter of 2021. Contact Philipp Tecklenburg Telephone: 0211 95983011 E-mail: p.tecklenburg@tecklenburg-pe.de
