“Treasure chamber” in the old town is finished

In the heart of Dinslaken's old town, the “Treasure chamber” has been created. The project was realised by the Straelen construction entrepreneur Hermann Tecklenburg. The building complex, consisting of five houses, accommodates 25 condominiums and three commercial units. The first residents have moved into the new building complex in the area of Brückstraße, Kolpingstraße and Duisburger Straße. At present, the tradespeople are still busy with some remaining work. Dinslaken Vehicles of tradespeople have long been part of the streetscape in the vicinity of the Treasure chamber. Recently, removal vans have also been seen there again and again, because by now 15 of the condominiums in the building complex erected by the Straelen company Tecklenburg in the heart of the old town have already been occupied. The new building with underground garage consists of five residential houses in the area of Brückstraße, Kolpingstraße and Duisburger Straße and is completed. At present, remaining work and the final fitting-out of the commercial units are still being carried out. As Stephan Dix, project manager at Tecklenburg and responsible there for Dinslaken, said, two of the three intended commercial units on the ground floor have been let: to the Barmer health insurance company and carpe diem, a company that operates senior citizens' facilities. Still free is a commercial space of about 150 square metres. There are interested parties for this too. The premises, according to Dix, are suitable for medical professionals who want to set up a doctor's practice there, as well as for auditors and lawyers. The Barmer will move into the new premises on the ground floor of the building complex on Duisburger Straße, corner of Kolpingstraße, and set up its Dinslaken branch there. In the Brückstraße, Kolpingstraße area, the premises there at ground level will be occupied by carpe diem. This company operates social facilities, primarily senior citizens' parks, and will open a day-care facility with an attached café and bistro in May. The company name is at the same time the company's motto: carpe diem – seize the day. For these two occupied commercial units, for which there are long-term leases, investors are still being sought, as Dix said, because the company Tecklenburg does not want to keep the units permanently in its portfolio. Of the 25 existing apartments, 22 have been sold, and notary appointments are coming up shortly for two more. One apartment is still available; this is the show apartment, which was previously used for marketing purposes and is now also being sold. The size of the apartments in the building complex ranges from just under 53 to 158 square metres. The largest unit is one of the four penthouse apartments, as Stephan Dix said. The sizes of the apartments (138, 130, 126, 108, 98, 86, 70, 59 square metres) vary in such a way that virtually every need can be met. Stephan Dix is quite enthusiastic about the building complex that was created on the former Hackfort site. “It has become a dream, the building fits into the old town and is impressive,” says the project manager. Each of the five houses has its own character; the façade of the building complex was vertically subdivided and divided into five façade types. The ensemble is intended to form a bridge between modern architecture and the historic old town. In 2013, construction entrepreneur Hermann Tecklenburg bought the Hackfort site in order to build on it. Part of the plot was at that time used as a car park, which presented itself as completely unsightly. An initial preliminary plan for the project was submitted. Demolition work was pending, and in December 2015 the foundation stone for the Treasure chamber could then be laid. The topping-out ceremony was celebrated in July 2016.
