The family business is relocating its headquarters to Mülheim. The contract for its construction, worth 4.1 million euros, goes to Straelen. The Straelen construction company Tecklenburg and the fashion house von Drathen, which is relocating its company headquarters from Ratingen to Mülheim an der Ruhr for reasons of expansion, do not at first glance have much in common. But on closer inspection, the interested observer discovers an overlap that is large enough to establish a collaboration in an important phase of the fashion chain, which positions itself with its individual collections in the high-quality women's outerwear market. For, just like the company Tecklenburg, the fashion house von Drathen is also a family business with tradition. Peter and Marten von Drathen have for many years operated exclusive fashion houses in Aachen, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Hagen, Mainz and Bochum. Peter von Drathen founded his first fashion house in Düsseldorf. In 2003 the headquarters was relocated from Düsseldorf to Ratingen – with generously designed office spaces and a modern logistics centre. The flair for trends and new, young fashion brands has now led, for reasons of further expansion, to the decision to relocate the fashion company's headquarters from Ratingen to neighbouring Mülheim. Due to the long-standing friendship between the two company heads, the company Tecklenburg was given the opportunity to participate in the nationwide tender for the detailed planning and construction of the building. After evaluating all the bids, the contract was awarded to Straelen with a contract sum of 4.1 million euros. „Not only the economic offer, but rather the competent and dedicated advice from the Tecklenburg engineers really convinced me completely,“ the client Peter von Drathen justified the decision to begin a time-limited collaboration with the company Tecklenburg. As Dieter Gust of the company Tecklenburg explains, the new exclusive show-room of the fashion house is being created on the ground floor of the company headquarters in Mülheim. „The big fashion shows will take place here in future. The area is complemented by modern office spaces and a large warehouse for the new fashion trends,“ reports Gust, during whose explanations the new company headquarters takes shape. „The floors above accommodate ten high-quality, accessible apartments which, with their balconies and roof terraces, offer a wonderful view over green Mülheim. Vehicles can be parked in an underground garage made of watertight concrete with direct access to the apartments.“ Company head Hermann Tecklenburg has already assembled his teams of staff for the multi-million construction project, so that the detailed planning can begin in January 2019. Construction work starts in spring 2019, and the opening celebrations are firmly promised for August 2020.
