When Tecklenburg GmbH takes stock of a year, it is not only figures that are discussed, but also employees who stand behind the achievements are highlighted. This has a tradition at the company on Lingsforter Straße. Who became Man of the Year, Worker of the Year and Trainee of the Year this time? Similar to the film awards in Hollywood, someone – in the current case it can only be company head Hermann Tecklenburg – would now step onto the stage festively dressed, holding the envelopes with the prizewinners in hand and, after a few friendly words, at the climax of his appearance let the „cat out of the bag“.
Man of the Year: Dieter Gust.
The prizewinner has been employed at Tecklenburg for four years as a graduate civil engineer and, holding commercial power of attorney, reports directly to the management. Responsible for the area of acquisition, Gust was able, in close cooperation with the other departments of the company, to already land several general-contractor contracts, but also to provide technical support at all times in getting new Tecklenburg project developments off the ground. At the award ceremony, company head Hermann Tecklenburg presents this task, which is important for the company. Associated with it are barely quantifiable hours of work – in the office, but above all outside on site with people who must be convinced with arguments and sometimes also with charm that Tecklenburg GmbH is the suitable partner. This can be compared to a long-distance run. Giving up is forbidden if success is to beckon at the end of the day, which this time received a special distinction internally with the title „Man of the Year“.
Worker of the Year: Mirek Rakowski.
The prizewinner in this category has been working as a construction helper in the Straelen company for almost four years. Diligence and an above-average high level of commitment on the construction site are outstanding characteristics that company head Tecklenburg mentions with praise. They were the decisive factor in being number one for the year 2017 out of a field of good workers.
Trainee of the Year: Johann Harputluoglu.
The young man with the alert eyes is completing vocational training at Tecklenburg to become an industrial clerk and is in his second year of training. „Johann distinguished himself above all by actively contributing to the TÜV recertification,“ says Hermann Tecklenburg at the presentation of the prize. The selection of the prizewinners illustrates how the Straelen construction company measures „success“. It is an overall package. It begins with acquisition, extends through the meticulous execution and is accompanied by the staff in the offices. „Success has many fathers,“ knows the football fan Tecklenburg.
Tecklenburg building in Cologne completed
In the inner-city area of the city of Cologne, Tecklenburg GmbH has constructed a new residential building as general contractor for the housing company of the Stadtwerke Köln. At Bonner Straße 354, an apartment building with six storeys has been created. The handover to the client took place in February. From the ground floor to the third upper floor there are five apartments each, and in the setback storey there are three residential units. In the basement there are tenant cellars, a bicycle storage room and a heating room. Each of the 23 apartments has a loggia or terrace. The accesses to the apartments (lift and building entrance) were built barrier-free, and some apartments also include rooms accessible to wheelchair users. > read the original article
