"Markt Rose": 100th Topping-Out Ceremony for the Company Boss

Project manager Edgar Walter welcomed the guests and thanked the tradespeople for their commitment in two-shift operation. For Hermann Tecklenburg it was a special day. The occasion was to celebrate the topping-out ceremony for the "Markt Rose" project in Straelen. "And besides, it is the 100th topping-out ceremony for me," the entrepreneur looks back on decades of experience in the construction business. Project manager Edgar Walter took the celebration as an opportunity to express his recognition and thanks to the tradespeople. Until the completion of the shell construction, work had been carried out in two shifts from six in the morning until ten at night. As a result, the construction pace was almost doubled. Walter also pointed out that new paths had been taken with the architects' competition, from which Eckehard Wienstroer from Neuss emerged as the winner among four applicants. Tecklenburg called the "Markt Rose" an "architecturally exceptional property". He expressed his conviction that the residential and commercial building would positively influence the surroundings at the Straelen market. Monika Lemmen, deputy mayor, spoke of a "positive and trend-setting course being set for the Straelen town centre". The blessing of the shell construction was performed by the Catholic priest Charles Raya and his Protestant colleague Pastor Christian Werner. From lofty heights, with the colourfully decorated topping-out wreath hanging from the crane in view, Florian Fischer and Stefan van Bebber recited the traditional topping-out speech. Afterwards there was the topping-out feast for the guests and an opportunity for a tour through the shell construction of the "Markt Rose". After completion in the first quarter of 2018, the building will house 20 individual apartments in sizes of 50 to 94 square metres. Barrier-free access, a lift, electric roller shutters, a video intercom system, high-quality parquet flooring or tiles respectively, and level-access showers are among the fittings. Some apartments are also offered fully furnished including a kitchen. The ground floor offers space for two commercial units. A new gastronomic concept is to be implemented there. "I hope that the people of Straelen will then also go to this bar," said Tecklenburg. > read original article
