This is where you go from the old town into the castle park

After two years of construction, the „Live Green“ project in Moers was completed on Friday. Client and investor Hermann Tecklenburg (r.) handed over the new park section to the town of Moers, here with Mayor Christoph Fleischhauer (centre). The new residential complex in the former New Town Hall has likewise been completed. The park section connects the old town with the castle park. The construction company invested 800,000 euros here. The new park entrance with a gravel path and lawns runs, by the way, over the underground car park, for which the town granted a building rights easement. It thereby remains the owner of the plot. Around 7 centimetres of soil were laid, and for the planted ornamental cherries it is even up to 1.40 metres. „This is a somewhat different green roof,“ says Stefan Oppermann, head of the green spaces and environment department at the town.
