Things are progressing in the Teutonenstraße new-build area. Despite the coronavirus crisis, work is on schedule according to the investor. Only the breakthrough is still missing. A year has passed since the first groundbreaking on Teutonenstraße in Vinn. It is already a residential quarter in the true sense. The first homeowners moved in recently. The investor, the Tecklenburg construction firm from Straelen, has already completely marketed four of the six construction phases in total. It assures: Corona will not stop us. The huge plot lies rather hidden behind the wall of the Aldi car park on Uerdinger Straße on one side, and “in the second row” behind the residential buildings on Kaiser- and Humboldtstraße on the other. At 22,000 square metres, it offers space for one of the largest residential construction projects of recent years in Moers. 80 residential units are planned, under construction or already finished. In addition there is a kindergarten with four groups. Five bungalows and seven semi-detached houses are occupied. Third phase in progress. “40 to 50 people have their new home there,” reports head of sales Sandra von Lobenstein. The second construction phase, consisting of 16 houses, is to be ready for occupancy in the autumn. The next removal vans can probably arrive between September and November. The shell of the day-care centre is up; it is to be finished in the third quarter. The third construction phase with 25 residential units is in progress. The newly created address is, by the way, named after the famous chemist, physicist and twofold Nobel laureate: Marie-Curie-Straße. How strong the demand on the housing market in Moers and the desire for one's own home is, is shown by the fact that Sandra von Lobenstein long ago marketed the first four construction phases with 56 residential units combined. According to her, the owners include many families with children. Moreover, among the buyers are people from Düsseldorf and Duisburg who are drawn to the town of the counts. The last two construction phases are now going to marketing. They are to be ready for occupancy by the end of next year. The first binding reservations are in hand. The coronavirus pandemic has so far not been able to harm construction progress on the site. There is, for example, no shortage of building materials, says Sandra von Lobenstein. Nor have any employees fallen ill: “We are absolutely on schedule, or in some places even ahead of the plan.” No one therefore needs to fear that buildings will be finished later. In one respect, however, the coronavirus did throw a spanner in the works for Tecklenburg. A celebration was planned for 3 April to mark the completion of the day-care shell and some houses of the second construction phase, as well as the laying of the foundation stone for the “Quartiershof” apartment building.
