42 semi-detached houses and an apartment building with 20 condominiums are being built in St. Hubert. Now the topping-out ceremony has been celebrated.
„Every good story begins with an ‚once upon a time‘.“ With these words, Hermann Tecklenburg welcomed the future residents and their families at the topping-out ceremony in the St. Hubert new development area „Auf dem Zanger“. With this, the trained master bricklayer and managing director of the company group bearing his name alluded to a time now 55 years ago, when as a young trainee he celebrated his first topping-out ceremony. „Today it is my 299th topping-out ceremony, and for our long-established company it has always been important over all these years to celebrate the laying of the foundation stone, the topping-out ceremony and the inauguration“, said Tecklenburg, who can look back on a successful history with his company.
But the future looks good too. With the „Himmelblau“ project, a large new development area is being created in several construction phases on Auf dem Zanger in St. Hubert. Here Tecklenburg is having 42 semi-detached houses and an apartment building with 20 condominiums built. The starting signal was given in mid-April with the first six semi-detached houses, and at the topping-out ceremony all future residents had gathered and were visibly delighted in view of the swift construction progress. „You will be able to celebrate Christmas in your house“, promised Tecklenburg. He highlighted the good cooperation with the town of Kempen and the municipal utilities. District heating and the water network for the development area are also already largely completed. In the heating plant, water storage tanks, a boiler, heat pumps and a combined heat and power unit have been installed. The chimney is up, and the solar panels have likewise been mounted.
„The drying-out heating of the houses in autumn already runs via the heating plant“, explained Siegfried Ferling. The managing director of Stadtwerke Kempen pointed out that the energy supply project for the Auf dem Zanger development area is trend-setting for Kempen. The Protestant pastor Markus Rönchen wished the residents of „Himmelblau“ above all a blessed home and good neighbourliness. „The hardware is the houses. The software is how people treat one another“, said Rönchen.
The home builders are already looking forward to their new development area, which is starting out with many young families. „The rural setting, the proximity to Kempen, the good infrastructure – all of that persuaded us to build here“, reported a family from Duisburg. That it would end up being St. Hubert, however, was something a couple from Kempen would not yet have thought at the start of the year. But the small district and its new development area won them over on a first visit.
While the topping-out wreath swayed on the crane, Heinz-Josef van Aaken climbed to lofty heights for the traditional topping-out speech. With the words „The glass must now die, bless the building with your shards“ the master carpenter concluded his speech, thereby giving the signal for the celebration to begin. As for the further construction, the second phase with the next eight semi-detached houses will follow shortly. The final semi-detached houses are due to be completed by the end of 2020.
